Fonomo 2025
Date and time: 26.10.2025 16:00
Place: Miejskie Centrum Kultury w Bydgoszczy
Location: Bydgoszcz
Jerzy Rogiewicz, an acclaimed composer, percussionist, and vocalist born in Bydgoszcz, will be the focus of one of the events at this year’s edition of the Fonomo Music & Film Festival. Known for his music for films such as The Mute, Fucking Bornholm, and the series 1670, Rogiewicz will receive the Kuyavian-Pomeranian Voivodeship Marshal’s Film Award named after Pola Negri. The event will include a conversation about his creative work at the intersection of sound and image.
Rogiewicz has been consistently building his position in the field of film music, as well as improvised, children’s, and experimental music. He co-creates the duo Jerz Igor, collaborates with Marcin Masecki, Zoia Michailova, and also performs solo. He is a scholarship recipient from the City of Warsaw – as part of the Children’s Symphony project, he composed a series of vocal-instrumental pieces for the Young Orchestra of Nowy Teatr. His work combines compositional precision with a sensitivity to visual language and the instinct of an improviser.
The Kuyavian-Pomeranian Voivodeship Marshal’s Film Award named after Pola Negri, established in 2022, is dedicated to both emerging and established film artists – including actors, directors, and cinematographers.
The meeting will offer a unique opportunity to explore the behind-the-scenes of composing film music and take a closer look at the career of an artist who successfully bridges the worlds of film, concert performance, and education.
