"Spacer Poza Fonomo – alternatywne odkrywanie Bydgoszczy. Miasto, muzyka i film w nieszablonowej narracji Mikołaja Buzały."

Fonomo Music & Film Festival is not just about films and music. It’s also about Bydgoszcz – a city that is alive, ever-changing, and full of history. A space that is not a backdrop but an integral part of the festival’s story. The event Walk Beyond Fonomo is a unique proposition for everyone who wants to immerse themselves in the city’s narrative, discovering its less obvious layers.

Walk Beyond Fonomo – a city that plays, resonates, and tells stories

Nothing happens in a vacuum – and certainly not Fonomo. The festival is immersed in the city’s fabric, inscribed in places that have long co-created Bydgoszcz’s cultural identity. The Municipal Cultural Centre, Rother’s Mills, Mózg Club – these are not only festival locations but also cultural landmarks. Their walls remember decades of transformations, encounters, sounds, and images – from the highbrow to the everyday, often countercultural.

Walk Beyond Fonomo – an alternative discovery of Bydgoszcz

Walk Beyond Fonomo is led by Mikołaj Buzała – a Bydgoszcz native, guide, and creator of the project Nieciekawe, who specializes in discovering the city beyond the typical route. Instead of repeating well-worn legends, Buzała offers a thoughtful look at the city as a living organism. From history inscribed in architecture, through traces of former residents and initiatives, to the contemporary life of streets and courtyards – this is a walk that connects film, music, urbanism, and local memory.

The city as a large apartment – a fresh perspective

For Fonomo guests, the walk is an invitation to dive deeper into Bydgoszcz’s urban life. For residents, it is an opportunity to see familiar places from a new angle. Like a large apartment that, from time to time, is worth rearranging to refresh the perspective.

Mikołaj Buzała – a guide beyond clichés

Mikołaj Buzała is a local guide, researcher of urban stories, and author of alternative tours around Bydgoszcz. He avoids clichés and popular legends, instead seeking authentic narratives hidden within the city’s spaces. He collaborates with the Visite tourism office, the Bydgoszcz Local Tourism Organization, and the regional branch of the Polish Tourist and Sightseeing Society (PTTK).
